Olivier Nicolay, a native of France, was born in Lorraine and grew up near Paris where he earned his Docteur en Chirurgie Dentaire (DDS) from the Université René Descartes. After two years in private practice, he enrolled at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston for three years to study orthodontics and do research in that field. At the end of his studies, he was awarded a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters in Medical Sciences.
Because of his experience in research, and to gain more knowledge and experience he decided to pursue an academic career, first at the Ohio State University where he served for five years, then to New York to assume the position of Program Director in the Department of Orthodontics at Columbia University. After earning a DDS from Columbia, he started a private practice in the present location with his original partner.
Now at New York University, he has been Director of the Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Associate Chair of the Department of Orthodontics for nine years. Olivier Nicolay is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. He also holds regular memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association.
Olivier Nicolay lives in New York with his wife, Catherine, and two daughters, Isabelle and Anne-Sophie.
